Position Summary:

Olam Cocoa is looking to recruit a motivated, result-driven individual to fill the role of productivity and sustainability analyst as part of its core sustainability team.

The person will be responsible for identifying drivers of farm productivity and income and to develop recommendations that can be used to inform farm development plans and training programs. To this end, he/she will mine Olam’s farm databases to identify trends and will use performance management tools and processes to help drive and measure the impact of Olam sustainability initiatives. The analyst will support Olam’s Monitoring & Evaluation framework, ensure the development and sharing of knowledge internally and externally, as well as support the continuous improvement of internal digital platforms. This position will work with origin teams, the plant science team, customers and other industry stakeholders to accelerate the use of result-based learning to drive performance and enable evidence-based decision making.

Key Deliverables:

  • Coordinate the analysis of farm data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Identify the main drivers of farm productivity for different farming systems based on external knowledge and internal data and expertise.
  • Define and review key performance indicators in relation with sustainable farming, farm productivity and profitability
  • Issue recommendations to improve farm practices, follow and improve farm development plans in order to drive adoption of improved practices
  • Support training programmes and provide technical assistance for origin country M & E and reporting teams; provide technical advice during programme development and financing proposals
  • Help identify, test and implement impactful plant science innovations
  • Use result-based analysis to understand efficacy of current sustainability programmes across geographies and work with implementation teams to strengthen and improve sustainability programmes globally.
  • Support knowledge creation, sharing and learning of internal lessons learnt and best practices across origins and programmes,
  • Work with relevant external bodies (such as World Cocoa Foundation) to support industry communication and alignment and represent Olam in relevant forums and conferences.
  • Work closely with digital platforms such as OFIS, AtSource, & DSE to help improve and update them where necessary.

Requirements:

  • MSc in agriculture or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience of sustainable development
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, result driven
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Strong ability to work in a diverse a cross-functional team
  • Natural / Fluent English, French preferred
